When youʼre creating social media content to grow your brand, itʼs most helpful if
your content falls into one of these categories - educational, entertaining and
always engaging.
In this blog post, we are going to focus on educational content.
Educational content teaches your ideal customer or client something of value.
Educational content positions you as an expert on a specific set of topics.
Educational content builds trust between you and your ideal customer/client
because they can see that you know what youʼre talking about & you know how to
help them best.
Listed below are 3 specific types of educational content you can create to help
build your brand online and establish know, like & trust with your ideal customer/
client.
1.) Educate your ideal customer/client on your industry
- Whatʼs obvious to you is most likely foreign to your people! You know whatʼs
trending in Real Estate, Personal Development or Online Marketing, your specific
industry - they donʼt! I guarantee your ideal people donʼt want to go and search &
learn it for themselves either. This is where you can step in and teach them what
they want or should know. What questions does your ideal person probably have
about the Real Estate industry in 2020? What is trending for online marketing in
the fall of 2020? Create valuable videos that answer the questions they probably
have but are too hesitant or lazy to actually go and search for the answers
themselves. Bring the answers to them and let them in on whatʼs popular in your
relevant industry & how it impacts them.
2.) Educate your ideal customer/client on your niche
- You are helping a specific type of person with something specific. When
someone new comes across your brand, they are thinking three things - who are
you? what do you do? & why should I care? Meaning, they want to know what this
guy/gal is all about, they want to know how you go about what you do (your offers)
& how sticking around your brand is going to benefit them. You want to do your
best to make it clear what you do for your person. For example, the industry youʼre
in might be Real Estate, but your niche is helping new parents find a bigger home
for their growing family. Youʼd want to educate those first time parents on the
benefits of hiring you as their Real Estate agent and why your services are the
ones they should choose to pay for.
3.) Educate your ideal customer/client on your expertise
- Continuing off of tip number two, you want your person to have clarity on why
they should exchange their hard earned money for your products or services.
What makes you so different compared to the other Real Estate Agents, Life
Coaches or Social Media Managers out in the world? Did you go through a specific
training? What life experiences make you qualified? What certifications or degrees
do you hold? What results have you got for clients before or what reviews have
your customers left? You are the expert & you need to let your ideal person know
why!
Is it time for you to create more educational, valuable content for your ideal
customer/client?
I challenge you to create content three days this week, (Monday, Wednesday &
Friday) using the topics listed above. This is a step in the right direction for getting
known, seen & heard online.
